SWEET SPICED WALNUTSIngredients:
Directions:Beat together egg white and water in a large bowl with a fork. Add walnuts; toss to coat. In a small bowl combine sugar, cinnamon, salt, nutmeg, and allspice. Sprinkle sugar mixture over walnuts and toss to coat. spread nuts in a greased 15x10x1 inch baking pan. Bake, uncovered, in a 325 oven for 20 minutes. Transfer to waxed paper to cool. Break into clumps. Makes 7 cups. WARM SAVOURY SPICED WALNUTSIngredients:
Directions:In heavy based saucepan, melt butter over moderate heat. Add spices, stir for 30 seconds. Add the nuts and salt, cook, stirring until the nuts are lightly toasted, about 3 minutes. Drain on paper towels. Serve warm. Recipes found "on the internet" but tried and vouched for by our Secretary! |
