QUALITY WALNUT PRODUCERS - QWP

QWP Proprietary Limited – Quality Walnut Producers have completed a purpose built processing plant at Koraleigh near Swan Hill. The processing facilities include Cleaning, Hulling, Drying, Grading and Packaging. An important feature is an automated drying system using the very latest technology to ensure fresh nuts are at the correct moisture levels at all times. The processing plant has been fabricated in Australia, with key components imported from the USA.

The plant developed by ten growers to process walnuts from new and existing plantings in Victoria and NSW has been supported by a substantial Commonwealth Food Processing Grant. The capacity and setting of the plant is intended to support new growers coming into the industry for many years to come. Prior to the 2008 harvest the QWP processing plant is to be extensively trialed to ensure that processing system is of the highest quality for market requirements.

The QWP marketing strategy is to ensure that all customers will be part of a professional marketing program in Australia and Europe.

While QWP will be processing substantial volumes for founding growers other growers are welcome to benefit from the latest modern walnut processing facilities.
