Farm Walk 16—17 Feb. 08 TaturaThis year the focus is on tree nutrition, fertilization and drought management. See back page for registration form. We are also very lucky to have Alberto Valeri attending. Alberto has been involved in the development of the Walnut Industry in Northern Italy over the last twenty years. They have had a very dry season this year and we look forward to comparing drought management techniques. At Tatura we will look at 2 properties, and then travel over to Strathfieldsaye for our third property. The cost for the Saturday Farm walk is $140 per member which covers morning teas, lunch, bus travel and a sumptuous 3 course dinner at the Country Comfort Shepparton. Recommended accommodation:

Research and Development Workshop Sun 17th Feb.With funding from Horticulture Australia (HAL) (we hope) this facilitated workshop will examine current research and prioritise future research and development for the walnut industry for the next 5 years. The outcome will be agreed priorities for research that are of importance to growers, that can then be used as basis for seeking research dollars, and building into AWIA’s strategic long term planning processes. To make this day meaningful, we need as many of you as possible to attend and let us know what is important to you.
